Sportening has two fundamental principles when it comes to collecting and processing private data:
- - We don't use your data to show you ads.
- - We only store the data that Sportening needs to function as a secure and feature-rich messaging service
Legal Ground for Processing Your Personal Data
We process your personal data on the ground that such processing is necessary to further our legitimate interests (including: (1) providing effective and innovative Services to our users; and (2) to detect, prevent or otherwise address fraud or security issues in respect of our provision of Services), unless those interests are overridden by your interest or fundamental rights and freedoms that require protection of personal data.
What Personal Data We Use
Basic Account Data
Sportening is a communication service. You provide your mobile number and basic account data (which may include username, profile picture, full name, email and birthday information) to create a Sportening account.
To make it easier for your contacts and other people to reach you and recognize who you are, the username you choose, your full name (if you entered it) and your username on Sportening are always public.
We don't need to know your real name, email or birthday. We do not require your full name to be your real name.
Your E-mail Address
The e-mail address is not something that you need to enter. It’s optional info. We may use it later on to contact you to collect some information about our app usage.
Sportening is a cloud service. We store messages and photos from your cloud chats on our servers so that you can access your data from any of your mobile devices anytime without having to rely on third-party backups
Keeping Your Personal Data Safe
Processing Your Personal Data
Sportening is a cloud service. We will process your data to deliver your cloud chat history, including messages and media, to any devices of your choosing without a need for you to use third-party backups or cloud storage.
Spam and Abuse
To prevent phishing, spam and other kinds of abuse and violations of Sportening’s Terms of Service, our moderators may check messages that were reported to them by their recipients. If a spam report on a message you sent is confirmed by our moderators, your account may be limited from contacting strangers – temporarily or permanently. You can send an appeal to email firstname.lastname@example.org. In case of more serious violations, your account may be banned.
We may also store some aggregated metadata to create Sportening features that work across all your devices.
We may use some aggregated data about how you use Sportening to build useful features such as popular listing.
Third Party service providers
Sportening may engage the services of third-party service providers and suppliers for certain activities including, but not limited to, processing your information and providing technical support to our Services. For example, we engage service providers to host our Platforms, store data, send marketing communications, carry out marketing data segmentation, and perform data analytics to measure and understand our audience, tailor our marketing and trading services, and improve your experience of our Platforms.
Sportening will take steps to ensure that arrangements with third-party service providers protect your privacy by ensuring that these third parties comply strictly with instructions when they are processing your information.
Sportening may share your Personal Data with third parties who process your Personal Data on our behalf when they provide services to us, for example, data analytics and for the purposes of recruitment.
Unlike other services, we don't use your data for ad targeting or other commercial purposes. Sportening only stores the information it needs to function as a secure and feature-rich cloud service.
Currently, we do not have a feature for blocking and reporting users through our app. However, if you find actions and messages of some users inappropriate please send an email to email@example.com.
Currently, our bot Pepper is maintained by us and we are the ones that are providing content through a bot.

If Sportening receives a court order that confirms you're a terror suspect, we may disclose your IP address and phone number to the relevant authorities.
Your Rights Regarding the Personal Data You Provide to Us
Under applicable data protection legislation, in certain circumstances, you have rights concerning your personal data. You have a right to: (1) request a copy of all your personal data that we store and to transmit that copy to another data controller; (2) delete or amend your personal data; (3) restrict, or object to, the processing of your personal data; (4) correct any inaccurate or incomplete personal data we hold on you; and (5) lodge a complaint with national data protection authorities regarding our processing of your personal data.
If you would like to delete your account, you can send request to firstname.lastname@example.org. Deleting your account removes all messages, media, contacts and every other piece of data you store in the Sportening cloud.
In cloud chats, you can choose to delete a message for all participants and it will be deleted from the server also.
Our app may include links to third-party websites, plug-ins and applications. Clicking on those links or enabling those connections may allow third parties to collect or share data about you. We do not control these third-party websites and are not responsible for their privacy statements. When you leave our Platforms, we encourage you to read the privacy notice of every website you visit or third-party mobile application you may use.
Sportening is getting data about games, competitions and players from our data provider Opta.
